The last trip to Heuer's Cafe we found a great little spot off Route B to grab some fantastic comfort food. This Heuer's location resides in a 72-year old building that also doubles as a country store. As we pull into Heuer's Sturgeon location the parking lot was packed on the eve of deer season.

This Friday night was a packed house at Heuer's. Full of families sitting down for their end of the week dinner, hunters preparing for an early Saturday morning and couples relaxing on an evening out. Smiles and conversation abounded at every table.

Simplicity and food is what makes Heuer's Cafe terrific. Square tables side-by-side, booths against the walls, a big screen TV is tucked away in the corner, a cooler with the days desserts greet you as you walk in, and not so lucky Bucks rest on the wall.

Heuers Prime RibYou can always find food made from scratch at Heuer's Cafe. Both locations make you feel right at home with menu choices that sound more like a family reunion. Breaded Cauliflower, Fried Okra, Southern Style Chicken Fingers even sides of Applesauce, Potato Salad, Tater Tots and Cottage Cheese are offered. Heuer's cooks up burgers topped with mushrooms, Swiss, bacon, or you can grab a veggie burger too.  Country ham, fish sandwich and a Reuben also make an appearance on the menu.

We made it out specifically on Friday night for Heuer's Friday night special. 12oz. Prime Rib with all the sides for under 15 bucks. It was a big, thick slab of meat to say the least. I sided mine with a large baked potato and slaw. Small portions are to find at Heuer's Cafe. The Prime Rib was cooked to a perfect medium rare and filled up more than half the plate. This was a meal to fill everybody, families or hunters.

Heuers pieAfter the prime rib disappeared it was time to rest, and then head to the desserts. Banana Cream Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, and hand-dipped ice cream all sit in front of you. Call it the lure of the season but I went for the traditional Pecan Pie.

Either location of Heuer's Cafe will do their best to make sure you will not leave hungry. Whether you go for their excellent Prime Rib special on Friday nights or just for their mouth-watering comfort food and conversation Heuer's Cafe will never disappoint.
