Blue Moon is a restaurant that combines American cuisine with an outstanding Thai menu.  The two choices don't seemingly go together but Blue Moon makes it hard to choose which one to go with.

blue moon interiorBlue Moon's lay out is an open "cafe style" dinning room with an exposed kitchen.  The smells and sounds ease their way from table to table.  Spacious windows look onto Nifong while a large vaulted ceiling lets the sunshine in.  Which is good since Blue Moon opens early for the breakfast crowd.

The menu options are fantastic and, at first, overwhelming.  The breakfast menu serves up the standards.  Biscuits & gravy, omelets, ham, fried steak, and even the Hungry Jack which consist of two eggs, two pancakes, hash browns, toast and bacon or sausage.  If you visit Blue Moon for breakfast you won't leave disappointed or hungry.

Lunch and dinner at Blue Moon will give you a wonderful array of options.  Burgers, chicken, tenderloins, chilies, deli and specialty sandwiches are all up for grabs.  The mixture of American and Thai food is a bit curious at first but Blue Moon works it out well.

blue moon thiWith over 34 dinner choices on their Thai menu picking one might be a bit time consuming.  I, eventually, picked out the Red Curry Chicken with Jasmine rice.  Chicken cooked in a red curry paste and coconut milk along side bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and fresh Thai basil.  You can also choose your choice of "hotness" at Blue Moon on a scale of 0, not spicy, to 10, extremely hot.  I went with a 7 and never looked back.

With eyes watering and my glass on constant refill alert I finished every bit.  Blue Moon's Red Curry Chicken was surprisingly great.  A fluffy pile of rice is surrounded by a superb range of flavors that disappeared quickly.  All the taste combines together to make one heck of a meal.

At Blue Moon Restaurant you'll find anything you want for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including some of the best Thai food in Mid Missouri.
