At Heuer's Country Store Cafe a few miles north of Columbia you will find relaxed home-style family dining and fantastic comfort food at it’s best. On any given night you’ll find families sitting down dinner, hunters preparing for an early Saturday morning and couples relaxing on an evening out. Smiles and conversation abound at every table. Simplicity and food is what makes Heuer's Cafe terrific. Square tables side-by-side, booths against the walls, a big screen TV is tucked away in the corner, a cooler with the days desserts greet you as you walk in, and not so lucky Bucks rest on the wall. You can always find food made from scratch at Heuer's Cafe. They will make you feel right at home with menu choices that sound more like a family reunion. Breaded Cauliflower, Fried Okra, Southern Style Chicken Fingers even sides of Applesauce, Potato Salad, Tater Tots and Cottage Cheese are offered. Heuer's cooks up certified Angus burgers topped with mushrooms, Swiss, bacon, or you can grab a veggie burger too. Country ham, fish sandwich and a Reuben also make an appearance on the menu. After dinner dig in to their dessert menu. Banana Cream Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, Traditional Pecan Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, and hand-dipped ice cream all sit in front of you. For breakfast try their famous biscuits and gravy, order off the omelet menu or try one of the many breakfast specials. For lunch check out daily specials and the dessert of the week. If you can't decide what to order, we always recommend catfish or their country fried steak. Everyday there is a great reason to come by for breakfast, lunch or dinner. On Monday, we have all you can eat catfish! Tuesday, don't forget to bring your kid under 13 for Kids Eat Free Tuesday! Come in early to secure your table at their breakfast brunch buffet on Saturday and Sunday morning.

I have been going to this restaurant since they opened. Their quality (and quantity) of food has gone down. The last time I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, I got 10 to 15 fries. Their ribeye steak looks like chopped beef its so thin. The prices are a little ridiculous for the amount of food you get.

We had ridden our motorcycles along country roads from Lexington, Missouri to visit Pinncales park. Across the highway we spied Heuer's.
Stopping in at Heuer's Country Store Cafe we were warmly greeted. Our waitress was prompt and pleasant and earned her $5.00 tip. Although the menu had many items from which to choose, we ordered burgers and they were just fine. I see that I am to rate the decor. Taking into account that this is a country cafe serving simple wholesome foods in a historic building, it gets a 5. The ambiance of this historic building suits it's current use like a glove.
